Crossing the great sporting divide, Ex pat soldiers in Doha used a football match to raise funds for Soldiers League.

On Thursday evening 30th November Ex Pat squaddies organised a five aside football competition in Doha Qatar

AlKhor in a repeat of last years match took the trophy from Barwa in a 60 minute game. All funds raised being donated to the Soldiers League Charity.

The AlKhor team was stronger this year and even some shockingly biased refereeing could not save Barwa. 5 goals from Christian Brooks and a strong performance from Luke Salter with cool leadership and footy skill from Joe Mason proved to strong for last years winners.
Best endeavour also went to AlKhor with Giles Mahon picking up the trophy.
The score was Barwa 9 – 11 AlKhor
Luke Salter man of the match
Top Goal scorer Christian Brooks Courtney
Best endeavour Giles Mahon

Soldiers league would like to thank everyone for their donations, but particular thanks must go to Andy Reid for his efforts and making the event such a success with over £800 being raised on the night.

Awards presented by Dr Dave Houghston.
